Privacy for children, in plain language
Last updated: 18 July 2026 · Pilot privacy notice for the public preview. No child account creation or production data collection is active on this static site.
Our core commitment. IQRA Kids does not collect personal information from children beyond what is required for learning progress within the parent-approved account. Parents have full data-deletion authority.
Who this policy is for
This policy explains how IQRA Kids ("we", "us") treats information relating to children who use the app. Because IQRA Kids is designed for children aged 3–12, every account is created and controlled by a parent or guardian. We have written this policy to be readable by parents, not just lawyers.
What we collect — and what we don't
We deliberately collect as little as possible. Within a parent-approved account we store only what is needed to teach your child and show you their progress:
- A child's first name or nickname (chosen by the parent) so the app can greet them.
- Learning progress — which lessons, letters, duas and surahs have been practised, and for how long.
- Parent-chosen settings, such as active pillars and time limits.
We do not collect a child's full name, home address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any information about the child that is not required for learning progress. We do not build advertising profiles of children.
No advertising, no data selling
There are no third-party advertisements in IQRA Kids and no advertising trackers. We never sell, rent, or trade a child's information to anyone. See our child safety commitments for the full picture.
The parent-approved account
Children do not create their own accounts. A parent or guardian sets up the account, approves the child profile, and controls every setting. Any feature that could involve communication or sharing is off by default and requires explicit parent approval to enable.
Parents are in control of the data
Parents have full data-deletion authority. From the parent area you can:
- View exactly what learning data is stored for your child.
- Correct information such as your child's name or age band.
- Delete an individual child profile and all of its data.
- Delete the entire account, which permanently removes all associated data.
You can also email privacy@iqrakids.app at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your child's data, and we will act on it.
How data is stored
The current public learning demo stores progress only in the active browser experience and does not create a child account. Before cloud accounts are enabled, this notice will be updated with the applicable retention, security and deletion details.
Children's privacy laws
IQRA Kids is being designed around children's privacy requirements, including parental control and data minimisation. Compliance language will be finalised with qualified counsel before child accounts or production data collection launch.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle children's data, we will update this page and notify parents through the app. We will never quietly expand what we collect from children.
